IN MEMORIAM - Chris VERHAAG : 22/12/1926 - 19/12/2023
Een van de Belgisch-Limburgse pioniers, Christ Verhaag is overleden.
Christ heeft vele bestuursfuncties bekleed, schreef jarenlang damartikels voor de KNACK en Het Belang van Limburg en schreef ook enkele damboekjes, onder meer een partijenboekje over de Kelleropening.

Chers tous, êtes-vous libres le samedi 9 décembre et souhaitez-vous participer à ce match international célébrant les 50 ans du Damclub Genk ? Nous recherchons encore quelques participants pour le dix national, mais aussi quelques joueurs pour renforcer Genk face au Suriname B dans l'après-midi. La sélection de l'équipe nationale est établie comme suit : - les trois premiers des Championnats de Belgique 2023 à Courtrai - les autres joueurs selon le classement national. Toute personne non encore inscrite sur la liste des candidats doit s'inscrire par email à Johan Evens et Johan Demasure au plus tard le mardi 28 novembre à 23h59. Tous les candidats sélectionnés recevront alors une notification avec tous les détails.

Interland België - Nederland - Suriname - Frankrijk : Ronde 1 - Ronde 2
Beste, ben je vrij op zaterdag  9 december en heb je zin om deel te nemen aan deze interland naar aanleiding van 50 jaar Damclub Genk? We zoeken nog enkele deelnemers voor het nationaal tiental, maar ook een paar spelers om Genk in de namiddag te versterken tegen Suriname B. De selectie van het nationaal team wordt opgesteld als volgt ; - de eerste drie van het BK 2023  in Kortrijk- de overige spelers volgens de nationale rating. Wie nog niet ingeschreven is op de kandidatenlijst meldt zich per mail aan bij Johan Evens en Johan Demasure tegen ten laatste dinsdag 28 november om 23:59. Daarna krijgen alle geselecteerden nog een mededeling met alle details.
Wil deze mail doorsturen naar al je leden die hiervoor in aanmerking kunnen komen. Haast je, want de resterende plaatsen zijn beperkt.

19/11/2023 : BLITZ DE WATTRELOS - ÉDITION 2023
Les Blitz de Wattrelos se sont déroulées le dimanche 19 novembre 2023. Le tournoi a réuni des joueurs venant des quatre coins de la France mais aussi d'autres pays (Belgique, Pays-Bas, Ukraine,...) ! De très forts joueurs (dont plusieurs maîtres) étaient au rendez-vous !
Durant la journée, les participants ont disputé pas moins de 18 parties.
Finalement, quatre joueurs se sont qualifiés pour les demi-finales : Kévin Machtelinck (Wattrelos), Henk Klarenbeek (Pays-Bas), Adiatou Ibrahim (Belgique), Keita Desmet (Belgique).
Lors de la première demi-finale : Kévin Machtelinck assure la remise face à Keita Desmet et se qualifie grâce à son classement lors des phases éliminatoires. Dans la deuxième demi-finale : Henk Klarenbeek gagne après une belle partie face à Adiatou Ibrahim.
La finale entre Kévin Machtelinck et Henk Klarenbeek commence par un début très engagé. Puis lors d'une phase de reconstruction Kévin Machtelinck surprend son adversaire en plaçant une combinaison ! Il remporte donc l'édition 2023 des Blitz de Wattrelos, il est suivi par Henk Klarenbeek et Adiatou Ibrahim ! - Cliquer pour les résultats complets.

Aurelia was ziek (buikgriep en drie dagen niet gegeten) tijdens de eerste dagen van het WK en heeft moedig gevochten tegen haar ziekte
maar kon helaas de laatste plaats niet meer vermijden.

In het Rapid heeft ze een fraaie 12de plaats behaald op 29 deelnemers met onder meer een overwinning op de Poolse kampioen Rapid!

De laatste dag was blitz en was de jus op. Veel krachten had ze niet meer maar gevochten als een leeuwin heeft ze wel.

16 --> 22/10/2023 : Semaine de la langue italienne

A l'occasion de la campagne de promotion de la langue italienne, ayons une petite pensée pour nos affiliés Patrick Casaril et Renzo Rubele.

La Semaine de la langue italienne dans le monde est une célébration mondiale annuelle de la langue et de la créativité italiennes. Cette initiative est née en 2001 en coopération avec l’Accademia della Crusca. Elle est organisée pendant la troisième semaine d’octobre par les ambassades, les consulats et les instituts culturels italiens, avec le soutien du ministère de la Culture (MiC), du ministère de l’Université et de la Recherche (MUR), du gouvernement suisse et de tous les principaux partenaires de la promotion de la langue italienne. La 22ème Semaine annuelle de la langue italienne dans le monde est organisée sous le Haut Patronage du Président de la République italienne

07/10/2023 : Fête au Damier Royal Ixellois, le 66e anniversaire du Club

La traditionnelle séance académique du Damier Royal Ixellois a bien eu lieu le samedi 07 octobre 2023 à 18h30' au restaurant "Les Pêcheries" restaurant réputé de Watermael-Boitsfort. Elle était rehaussée de la présence de Monsieur Jean Colaut, Président d’Honneur de notre association et Monsieur Patrick Terwagne, Vice-président d’Honneur. Comme d'habitude, cette réjouissance se composait du grand banquet annuel et de la remise des Prix et trophées couronnant cette fois le 66e championnat d'Ixelles 2023. Lire la suite...

IN MEMORIAM : Paul DEBONGNIE : 1933-2023

C'est avec une grande tristesse que nous devons vous annoncer le décès de Paul Debongnie. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le 02 septembre 2023.
Paul a vécu une très longue carrière dans le Jeu de Dames, il participait déjà au championnat d'Ixelles en 1958. En 1959, il devient champion en Division 2. En 1962, Il obtient la 4e place derrière Marseaut, Criel et Detaille. Par la suite, après son mariage, Paul est allé habiter à Anvers où naturellement, il a rejoint le club « Brabo » du Jeu de Dames. En 1973, il y décroche la 2e place derrière Edouard Van Bouwel en devançant les forts joueurs de l’époque, René Moris, Karel de Raedt et Jos Delen. Pendant des années, dévoué à l’extrême au Brabo, il rejouait et dactylographiait toutes les parties du championnat d’Anvers, il remettait son travail hebdomadaire à Roger Kleinmann, Secrétaire du Club.
En 1988, Paul déménage à Bruxelles et revient jouer au Damier Ixellois. Il n’a jamais gagné le championnat mais il s’est toujours très bien classé, on peut donc dire qu’il était un joueur de base dans le club.
Par la suite, il est allé jouer au 50naire-Bruxelles, cercle plus proche de son domicile. Là aussi, il a brillé par son assiduité mais aussi par ses bons résultats.
Rappelons aussi que Paul a participé assidument à plusieurs éditions du Championnat de Belgique !
26/08/2023 : Comme d'habitude, la nouvelle saison damiste belge a démarré avec le traditionnel tournoi "Terrasdammen" à Genk

Tallinn, 04/08/2023 : Aan de thuisblijvers,
Ik heb opnieuw twee grote bestanden foto's toegestuurd. De sfeer in de groep is nog steeds goed.
Na de partijen analyseren ze met Ronald hun partij. Daar leren ze veel uit. Vanochtend zat het een beetje tegen. Alleen Emma won haar eerste echte partij. Ook Wannes stand glad gewonnen. Zijn tegenstander kon geen kant meer uit en loerde op een combinatie van 2 tegen vijf naar dam.
Wannes had dit niet in de gaten en deed de verkeerde zet. Na bijna vier uur was hij eraan voor de moeite en zwaar ontgoocheld. Ook Wout en Milan moesten na vier uur de handdoek in de ring werpen.
Momenteel is de zesde ronde aan de gang. Aurelia heeft al verloren, zij speelt goede partijen maar kan nog niet lang genoeg de concentratie aanhouden.
Emma staat een schijfje voor en Wannes had een mooie stand maar had een dreiging niet in de gaten en zal een schijf verliezen.

Marie-Josée De Brabander (vrouw van Roland Dieperinck.... damclub Koning Dammas Gent) is op 27 juli jl. overleden op verlof
in Roses (Spanje), op 70 jarige leeftijd! Marie-Josee werd zelf nog Kampioene van Gent in 2de Klasse, alsook verloor zij de kleine finale-,
tegen haar echtgenoot Roland Dieperinck, en vierde werd in de Beker van de Stad Gent, die gewonnen werd door Ronald Van Hecke
tegen Christiaan Piens! Het gaat U goed hierboven Josee!

Sprimont se présente officiellement comme candidat à l'organisation du championnat de Belgique 2025.
Un dossier complet avec des prix d'hébergement et détails de l'organisation sera présenté à l'AG FRBJD en septembre 2023

29/04 --> 06/05/2023 : 1er Championnat du monde du jeu de Dames amateurs à Drancy - Rules and Regulations
Parallèlement à cela, il a été organisé le Drancy World Cup Open*** Résultats et parties sur Toernooibase
 
Après une partie disputée de dernière ronde, Jan GROENENDIJK, le favori de l’épreuve avec Shvartsman n’a fait que remise. Il partage la 1re place avec son compatriote HEUSDENS mais est premier au départage.
Il termine invaincu avec 4 parties gagnées et 5 parties nulles. Le podium : MI Jan Groenendijk, NED - GMI Ron Heusdens, NED - GMI Alexander Shvartsman, IP.
Notre affiliée FRBJD Ahlaia Shynkarenko a participé à cette grande compétition, sous les couleurs ukrainiennes bien évidemment. Elle a pu y réaliser 5 belles remises !

Chez les Amateurs, l’Italien Gabriele D’Amora remporte sa dernière partie et termine seul premier.

Un match nul flatteur pour Sprimont grâce à Johan Coorevits qui estime la position finale sur son

06/04/2023 : Tournoi de Pâques à Ter Heijde (P-B)

Succesvol paaseieren sneldamtoernooi : Donderdag 6 april vond in Het Vrondel een gezellig paaseieren sneldamtoernooi plaats. Aan dit toernooi deden naast de eigen volwassen leden ook de jeugdleden, ouders, dammers van omliggende verenigingen en huisdammers mee. Devanand Orie van Damclub Scheveningen won met 13 punten uit 7 wedstrijden. Tweede werd jeugdlid Stan van der Meer met 11 punten en derde werd Arie Stoorvogel met eveneens 11 punten. Niemand ging met lege handen huiswaarts na een gezellige avond.
Notre affilié Eddy Janssens y participait, il y a obtenu une magnifique 4e place et il est le seul en outre à avoir pu prendre un point au champion ! Voir toutes les photos

In the northern part of the Netherlands is a province that not only has a language and a culture of its own, but also its own mind sport: Frisian Draughts. This version of draughts has been played for over 400 years in this part of the world.
Frisian draughts has on a number of occasions ventured outside the Netherlands, for example to France, Denmark and Sweden. In Paris, the Frisian rules were combined with the French rules to produce a new variant: International Draughts.
It is our intention to introduce the original Frisian rules to the world once more. The original Frisian rules have the considerable advantage that games only seldom end in a draw.
With the help of a manuals, apps and other internet features, we plan to introduce draughts players all over the world to this spectacular game. In 2018, we held the first official Frisian Draughts World Championships.
Every year, the best players in the world will be invited to come to the Frisian town of Franeker to try Frisian Draughts. From 2013 until now, many champions in mindsports were among the participants like Jean Marc Ndjofang, Hans Jansen, Anatoli Gantvarg, Alexander Georgiev, Alexander Shvartsman, Guntis Valneris, Michele Borghetti and Vasyl Ivanchuk.
They all love Frisian draughts!
WFD - World Championships Frisian Draughts
WFD organises Fryslân Open 2023 in Franeker from February 28 - March 5
The WFD Foundation is organising the Fryslân Open tournaments again after successful years, details can be found on the tournament page.
Series of 20 online winter tournaments 17 December 2021 - 18 February 2022
The WFD Foundation will be organising a series of online tournaments for the winter months of December 2021, January 2022 and February 2022. The tournaments will take place on Lidraughts.org. The first tournament of the series is on Friday 17 December, the last one on Saturday 18 February.
There will be two tournaments each week. One of these (the Friday tournament) will be open to all, the other (the Saturday tournament) will be open to official WFD players only. In order to register as a WFD player, you will have to join the WFD Team on Lidraughts.org. This will only be possible with a username that matches your forename and surname (for example: LiuweWestra, i.e. two capitals, no spaces, underscores, or other symbols). The WFD Team membership requires an annual fee of €10.
The tournaments taking place in the odd weeks are FRYSK! tournaments (from 5 to 6 p.m. CET, time control 3 minutes and 3 seconds [Fischer]), the tournaments in the even weeks are Frisian Classic tournaments (from 5 to 6.30 p.m. CET, time control 5 minutes and 5 seconds [Fischer]).
The prize money for the open tournaments (on Fridays) is as follows.
1st place: €40
2nd place: €20
3rd place: €10
Furthermore, the highest player will get a free 2022 WFD Team membership as a bonus prize. If the highest player has already won this bonus, it will move on to the next player.
The prize money for the official WFD players tournaments (on Saturdays) is as follows.
1st place: €60
2nd place: €30
3rd place: €15

Saint Petersburg FRYK! Open Championships 25 November 2021
On 25 November 2021, for the first time, the St. Petersburg Open FRYSK! Championships will take place as an official WFD tournament. In addition to other prizes, the winner will receive €250 from the WFD Foundation as well as a ticket to the next official FRYSK! World Championships, which will hopefully be held on Sunday 27 February in Franeker.
The tournament is organised by Ruslan Peshcherov (Master FMJD), and will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. (GMT+3).
Change in the Board
During the last WFD Foundation board meeting, Mr. Herbert Tulleken, who has been a board member for over four years, announced his resignation. We are thankful for everything he has done for the promotion of Frisian Draughts (or Ultimate Checkers, as he likes to call it) and for the growth of the foundation as a professional organisation.
